Efforts from the We Stand On Guard Again concert, including matching funds from the federal government, have raised over $2-million for people impacted by Hurricane Fiona.
The concert was held on Sunday at Mary Browns Centre and featured an all-star lineup of Newfoundland and Labrador Artists. In addition to the concert, 100 per cent of all sales at Mary Browns locations across the province on Sunday also contributed to the grand total of $2,010,097. Event organizer Chris Andrews reveals that the grand total of the event calls the event “unreal” and says it was one of the greatest nights of his career, noting that all of the money will stay in this province.
He says the money is a help, but the people of the southwest coast still have a long way to go and asks that people continue to support those affected.
