Yet creating entry points into decision-making spaces for young women is only the first step. When organizations and institutions remain steeped in a patriarchal culture, it compromises the capacity of women in these spaces to succeed and women in leadership roles continue to navigate a minefield of gendered expectations, microaggressions, and violence.
