Dosing for children is exceptionally intricate. For kids admitted in hospital, numerous checks and reviews are employed before any medication reaches a child. When it comes to pediatric dosages, we want as little guesswork as possible. One idea to remove some of the uncertainties around dosage would be to ask your pharmacist to use pill-splitters to professionally prepare split tablets. For some children, it may also be beneficial to crush the tablet instead, and weigh appropriate doses on an analytical balance to fill a capsule. At home, a parent could then sprinkle the contents of the capsule on food to provide a dose, ensuring that the quantity prepared has been measured and reviewed.
