SaltWire Network | Posted: 10 hours ago | Updated: 10 hours ago | 1 Min ReadThe price of gasoline and diesel fuels continued to creep higher on Friday after the Nova Scotia Utility Board’s weekly price adjustment.
In Cape Breton, a litre of self-serve regular gasoline now sells for a minimum price of 183.5 cents, up 5.2 cents from the previous week. It’s also more than 30 cents higher than it was two months ago when the cost of a regular litre of gasoline was 151 cents. Meanwhile, the UARB also adjusted diesel prices with an increase of 7.3 cents per litre over last week. A litre of diesel now costs 235.5 cents. The same product sold for 173.4 cents per litre three months ago.
The UARB sets gasoline and diesel prices every Friday although it has the jurisdiction to invoke its interrupter clause in response to market fluctuations.
