Henry (Hank) Kitchell, 64, intended to camp at Fairy Lake near Port Renfrew, then head to Carmanah Park, but did not return Oct. 21 as planned
Saanich police are trying to locate a man who left on a solo camping trip Oct. 18 and failed to return as scheduled three days later.
Henry Kitchell, 61, planned to camp at Fairy Lake near Port Renfrew on the first night and then head to Carmanah Park, returning Oct. 21.“The family is very concerned for his well-being and this is completely out of character for Mr. Kitchell, who has camping experience and researched the area before he left,” said Const. Markus Anastasiades.
“We are hoping that someone has either seen Mr. Kitchell or his vehicle and camper over the weekend, as we have not any sightings of either since he left for his trip last Tuesday.” Kitchell is described as six-foot-two with a slim build, a short, grey beard and glasses, and was wearing a red rain jacket, blue jeans, a black ball cap and hiking boots.
He was travelling in a 1997 black Ford F-150 with B.C. licence plate ML4341, with an older off-white camper that has red, beige and brown stripes.
