JOHN'S, N.L. — The Newfoundland and Labrador Alliance for the Control of Tobacco is encouraging all current smokers and vapers in the province to consider quitting during National Non-Smoking Week Jan. 16-22.
Twenty per cent of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians continue to smoke, and vaping is becoming increasingly popular among young people, said ACT. "The concern here is that young people who vape often don’t realize how addictive nicotine is until it is too late. Any day is a great day to quit smoking or vaping," said ACT executive director Kevin Coady.
