ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The Newfoundland and Labrador government has announced that it will expand its COVID-19 bivalent vaccine offerings starting Monday, Feb.

Based on recommendations from the National Advisory Committee on Immunization and Health Canada, the Pfizer Comirnaty BA 4/5 COVID-19 vaccine will be available for children aged five to 11 years old. This marks the first time a bivalent vaccine has been authorized for use in this age group.

There are now three different formulations of bivalent vaccine available for people 18 and older, including Pfizer BA 4/5, Moderna Omicron/BA1 and Moderna BA 4/5.
