New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern will resign her position by Feb. 7 saying she doesn’t have the energy or inspiration to seek re-election at this year’s general election.
Ardern will remain a member of parliament until April, she told reporters Thursday in Napier where her Labour Party is holding a caucus. She also announced the election will be held on Oct. 14.
