Outhit argued that since the Central library helped rejuvenate Spring Garden Road and the Alderney Library helped Dartmouth, with a new library, the Bedford waterfront could be rejuvenated, too. It’s a project pegged at $40 million which would include a headquarters building to house logistics, fire prevention and administration and a four-bay fire station. Outhit said it would be spread out over a few years but with a projected construction start time of spring 2026.this week, city staff provided councillors with a few options to consider ahead of a budget discussion on March 29. Funding for a new fire station was placed on the budget adjustment list.
