Nanaimo RCMP are seeking help from the public to locate a 48-year-old woman who has been missing for more than a year.
In a Thursday news release, Mounties say Charmaine Mitchell, who occasionally goes by the name El Chapo, hasn’t been seen or heard from since July 2021.
According to RCMP, Mitchell “has had her struggles over the years.” As a result, she has drifted away from her immediate family, who recently contacted police to assist in locating her. “She has no phone, she does not drive a motor vehicle, and she lives a transient lifestyle. She is also known to frequent downtown Nanaimo,” RCMP said in the release.Sign up for our newsletter to get breaking news and daily digests sent to your email.Police describe Mitchell as a Caucasian woman standing at 5’10” with a thin build and blonde hair.
