Mounties’ union calls on feds to reconsider removal of ‘less-lethal intervention options’ from RCMP toolkit, citing safety concerns

According to the RCMP’s police intervention option reports for the years 2010-2021, there was an overall 43 per cent decline in the application of police intervention options during that time period. National Police Federation president Brian Sauvé, left, and RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki. The NPF is calling on the federal government to reconsider the potential removal of a number of 'less lethal intervention options' available to officers.
