Some programs that could receive the extra supports include Car 87 and 88 which respond to mental health calls in the city, and the VPD mental health unit, where officers work with Vancouver Coastal Health clinical staff to help reduce the number of offenders who cycle through the criminal justice system because of untreated mental health disorders.Article content
