Nanaimo RCMP searching for missing woman, 82, suffering 'significant' medical issues
Elizabeth Gilchrist, who suffers from “significant” medical issues, wandered away from her home in the Stephenson Point area sometime overnight, Nanaimo RCMP said Tuesday, Dec. 13.
Gilchrist’s daughter arrived at her mother’s home just before 11 a.m. and discovered that she was missing, according to Mounties. “Gilchrist has significant medical issues and given her age and the current weather conditions, there is extreme concern for her safety and well-being,” RCMP said.Nanaimo Search and Rescue have been contacted and plan to initiate a ground search of the immediate area, RCMP added.Sign up for our newsletter to get breaking news and daily digests sent to your email.
