Given this reality, Ottawa should be singularly focused on fiscal prudence and financial restraint, in order to withstand the potential economic impact of the oncoming storm. The government should also be looking at different ways to promote economic opportunities and job creation, including lower personal and corporate tax rates, as well as tax incentives for new businesses.
In other words, the left-leaning Trudeau Liberals need to substantially change their political and economic approach to properly deal with the coming recession, which could cripple our economy. Much the same way their right-leaning predecessors, the Harper Tories, had to shift course in 2007-08 when dealing with the global financial crisis precipitated by the subprime mortgage collapse in the United States.
