In December 2009, investigators searched Dunlop’s work computer and said they found disturbing content.on Aug. 25, 2009 — the same day Furlan was murdered — for topics such as ‘fingerprints on dead bodies,’ ‘latent fingerprints on human skin,’ ‘rates of decomposition,’ ‘methods to dispose of bodies using fire,’ ‘methods to dispose of a human body by burial,’ and ‘DNA testing for semen.
Family members have said Laura, the mother of a 15-year-old son at the time, had lost her full-time job and her encounter with DunlopLaura Furlan, who was killed by Christopher Ward Dunlop in 2009. HandoutDunlop was initially facing a first-degree murder charge in the case but pleaded to the lesser charge.
Court of Queen’s Bench Justice Kristine Eidsvik gave Dunlop 11 years for manslaughter and two years consecutive for committing an indignity to a human body in her Dec. 5, 2015, ruling. “Mr. Dunlop chose a vulnerable victim who he ultimately choked to death in what ultimately became an aggravated sexual assault under the Criminal Code,” said Eidsvik, who also ordered the killer to be registered as a sex offender for life.This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below.Gregson said details shared in the two cases are obvious, though police haven’t divulged the exact manner of Maerz’s death.
