Members of the Charlottetown Fire Department were on the water Nov. 10 after responding to a call of a person jumping off the Hillsborough Bridge. The person was pulled out of the water and brought to shore shortly after 1 p.m. Cody McEachern • The GuardianCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A person was rescued from the water after emergency crews were called to the Hillsborough Bridge on Nov. 10.
RCMP Const. Gavin Moore said police shut down the Hillsborough Bridge to traffic temporarily while a Charlottetown Fire Department rescue crew went out on the water to locate the person. He said after the man jumped, he was hauled far out into the harbour by the current before he was rescued and brought to shore.
