These same customers have had to fork over $488 in higher natural gas rates and federal carbon tax in 2022. Union South customers will see their forecasted bill drop by 3.8%, Union North East customers by 3.5%, and Union North West customers by 10.4%We apologize, but this video has failed to load.The OEB sets natural gas rates four times annually so the total bill at year’s end might be a different amount.
In a decision released last week, the OEB explains that lower natural gas prices are due to a warmer than normal early winter, an increase in North American production, a return to near-average storage inventories, and a decline in exports.
