“The winter can be long or short depending on what you want to do," says MacAlpine."It is finally here so go out and enjoy it.” Free March Break Open Gyms are scheduled at Digby Regional High School on March 13 and 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; at St Mary’s Bay Academy on March 11, 14, 16 and 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and at Islands Consolidated on March 10 from 6 to 8 p.m., March 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and March 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. Youth 12 and under must be supervised. Indoor shoes are required.
“All of our activities are free,” says Lisa Locke, recreation coordinator for the Municipality of Shelburne. From 10:30-11:30 a.m. it’s Mantracker on the trail. Participants will get on the trail of a fugitive or be the one to escape justice in this game of hide and seek and out-maneuvering. Recommended for ages 9 and over unless with a partner adult.
