Local Sask. painting group celebrating 15th anniversary
“These are my friends,” said Trottier. “These are people I talk to on a regular basis. We talk about art all the time.”
They celebrated their 15-year anniversary this weekend in Saskatoon with a pop-up exhibition at the Willows Golf and Country Club. “Painting on the prairies, it always tugs on our heartstrings. It’s our home, it’s our place,” he said. Karen Welch-Smith is a co-founder of Funky Artsmiths, a local art school in the city. She says she brings her students whenever the group comes to town, saying it’s a good learning opportunity for them.
