In Hamilton, a plot of land on the south side of White Church Rd. E. is being used for farming, but it’s for sod, not food. That land hasn’t been used for what most people consider farming in years as it was sold off for planned development near the airport. It’s the same story in Markham where there are two plots of land between an existing subdivision and Highway 404, directly across from an industrial park that houses several facilities including the Honda plant.
There are other parcels, such as the plots in Pickering where reasonable people could have a reasonable debate about the merits of building houses or leaving them green. The trouble is that there is little reasonable debate. In fact, the NDP and all the activists opposed just want to fool you into believing something that isn’t true.
