The coronation of King Charles III will be taking over televisions across the globe on Saturday, but locally there are only a couple of events planned to mark the ceremony.
In Thunder Bay, the Port Arthur Royal Canadian Legion Branch 5 will host free tea, coffee and cake on Saturday, May 6 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Highlights of the event will be shown on a TV in the club room. Everyone is welcome to attend the festivities at 229 Van Norman St. At Nipigon's Royal Canadian Legion Branch #32, they will be hosting a High Tea on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Coronation is set to start at 2:30 a.m., and will likely have highlights broadcast throughout the day on various social media and news outlet channels.
