The District of Sooke says a large fire that broke out Tuesday night is under control, but firefighters will be working through the night to put out hot spots.
Witnesses say the first started around 9 p.m. and happened off Church Hill Drive. The district was asking residents to avoid Church Hill, Noblewood Place and Steeple Chase for fire crews to operate.

Officials haven’t provided any further details, but witnesses tell CHEK News that the fire took place at a construction site.
