Celebrating 40 years in the community of Greater Sudbury, L’Arche are presently working towards a dream of expanding their offer of service through an inclusive housing model in the Minnow Lake area

L’Arche Sudbury has received a boost to their on-going efforts to offer inclusive housing with a $100,000 donation from the Bishop Alexander Carter Foundation.

On Nov. 11, Louise Paquette and Bishop Thomas Dowd presented the cheque to officials at L’Arche. Founded in 1982, L’Arche Sudbury is celebrating 40 years in the community of Greater Sudbury. The organization currently operates three homes in the New Sudbury area and offers service to persons with developmental disabilities through a community participation program. They are presently working towards a dream of expanding their offer of service through an inclusive housing model in the Minnow Lake area.

“We are thrilled to have the support of yet another community organization as we work towards expanding inclusive housing, and community involvement for members of L’Arche Sudbury,” said Jennifer McCauley, executive director of L’Arche Sudbury. “L’Arche makes a huge difference in the quality of life of people. This donation will help us maintain our efforts and build on our dreams for a more inclusive future for all.
