With roots from the Island, Larose recalls fond childhood memories when heused to make silly videos on a camcorder in Nanaimo.

The video is one of five vying for the award and has some serious competition to go against. With names like Sam Smith and Jessie Reyez in the mix, it’s hard not to root for the local guy.

With roots in on the Island, Larose recalls fond memories of when he and his friends used to make silly videos on a camcorder in the North Nanaimo suburb where he grew up. He added that the Island’s a good place to start for those interested in pursuing a career like his own, pointing out the abundance of nature.

Larose says he got his start in the creative industry back at his old Nanaimo high school, Dover Bay Secondary.
