JOHN'S, N.L. — The number of junior mining outfits in the province is growing, and it's related to several factors, says Ed Moriarty, executive director of Mining Industry NL.
“There are so many companies having good results, that’s going to attract more attention,” he said. “I think it’s a bit of a cumulative thing with attention and recognition. The province's prospectivity is very solid and well known for historical reasons and now it’s a resurgence, or a renaissance. We’re very, very pleased with the activities.”
“The information, historical information and the regular work of the survey to supplement and build out new layers of knowledge, the geological community in the private sector really depends on having access, and I think the survey is very proud of it.”
