Jason Blacquiere has been promoted to the rank of deputy chief of Summerside Police Services. - SaltWire Network File PhotoSUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The City of Summerside has promoted Jason Blacquiere to the rank of deputy chief of police after 23 years with the Summerside Police Service.
"Jason Blacquiere is a dedicated public servant of whom comes with a wealth of policing and crime experience," said Summerside Mayor Basil Stewart. "He's a familiar face to many residents in Summerside who has demonstrated excellent leadership and policing skills throughout his career." Blacquiere began his career with the Summerside Police Services in the spring of 1999. He started in general patrol until being appointed to the Prince District Joint Forces Drug Section, where he served from 2005 until 2007.Blacquiere was then promoted to corporal in 2013, where he supervised a patrol platoon until being promoted to sergeant in 2018.
After being promoted to sergeant, Blacquiere took over the role of station sergeant and was responsible for general operations of the police service as well as training, recruiting and media relations.FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Sergeant Jason Blacquiere has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief for Summerside Police Service
