A hunter who told authorities he killed and skinned what he thought were two coyotes has been criminally charged.

Police with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection arrested Konschak in February on charges including tampering with evidence, forgery, interfering with a law enforcement officer and hunting-related violations. Animal rights advocates have urged authorities to add animal cruelty charges. HAPPENING TODAY: Mike Konschak, a hunter arrested in connection to the deaths of these two German shepherds in Ridgefield, is in court. The owner of Cimo & Lieben says they were shot, then skinned and beheaded by Konschak, who was hunting on the property next to theirs.
