After last year’s successful event, organizers decided to return.Hockey Helps the Homeless has been working for 25 years to ensure every Canadian has a safe place to call home and the supports they need.
The Pro-Am tournaments they host across Canada raise funds with 100 percent of net proceeds staying local. This year the event will once again be supporting Durham Youth Services . DYS runs the region’s only emergency shelter for youth aged 16-24. Their outreach and prevention programs work with youth who are experiencing housing instability or are at risk of becoming homeless.
Each team participating in the event gets to play with an NHL alumni. They also receive a personalized pro style jersey and socks and access to a fully equipped locker room.
