Harris leads the way as Five dominate Jackals
It was a wet afternoon in the Nickel City on Sunday, but there was still a lot of energy in the Sudbury Community Arena as 2,298 loud fans turned out to cheer their Sudbury Five onto victory during the back end of a two game series against The Basketball League’s Jamestown Jackals.
With 9:05 remaining in the second quarter, Harris continued with demonstrating his scoring touch to score a basket and the following free throw to give Sudbury a 50-33 lead. With under four and a half minutes remaining in the first half, Harris scored once again off a pass from Braylon Rayson to make the score 68-45 for the Five.
With just over 10 minutes remaining in the game, Jeremy Harris showed that he still had the hot hand by dishing up another three pointer to give Sudbury a 133-97 lead. With just over four and a half minutes remaining, Montell McRae blocked a Jamestown shot and passed the ball up court to Braylon Rayson, who passed to Mark Vital, who then connected to give Sudbury a 149-117 lead. The Sudbury Five scored a franchise record number of points and won the game by a score of 162-139.
