The Prince George Haunted Maze organizers give back to the community through entertainment, while entry fee of cash and non-perishable food items are donated to non-profits.
At six months out about 1,000 volunteer hours started up and then in October there’s another 500 racked up as the more than 740 palettes are used to create the Haunted Maze at the 4H Beef Barn at Exhibition Park just in time for Halloween.
The fright factor goes from kid-friendly to jump scares to all-out terror depending on the time of day you dare to dive into this year’s under-water themed maze. “The day-time maze is family-friendly and nothing is scary in it and the music playing is the Monster Mash,” Jim explained. Then the medium scare is filled with jump scares and then the full scare sees actors chasing people and grabbing ankles and things like that so there’s fun for everyone – it just depends on how scared you’d really like to get.”
