• Windsor Curling Club representatives approached Windsor town council with a proposal to locate the soon-to-be-built club at Elmcroft Park, adjacent to the Hants Aquatic Centre. Swimming pool representatives also spoke positively about the proposal, noting they could have a shared geothermal heating/cooling system to help reduce the use of fossil fuels. Windsor council instructed staff to prepare a report on a multi-use facility.
• In mid-December, firefighters and the community at large paid their respects at a service for former fire chief and councillor Walter B. Stephens. Jerry MacInnis, the owner of MacInnis Landscape Design and Construction Services, and operations manager Kim Ellis were all smiles after MacInnis won an award for his work in 2007. - File
