“People who have significant immune compromise or other significant chronic health conditions. Pregnant women are of a significant increased risk for influenza for themselves and their unborn child, it’s important they get their flu vaccine,” Strang said. “We have a reasonable amount of COVID still around and it’s putting some pressures within the health-care system resources, but with all the other challenges we have . . . even a typical flu season has the potential to put pressures on our health-care system,” Strang said.While getting a flu shot, get up to date on COVID vaccines too, Strang said.
