If they get enough, Ralston is hoping to produce a film about reaching gender-parity at council and some of the issues female councillors are dealing with.
“It’s unbearable some days because it’s as though because we’re a politician, people have a licence to attack us in a way that is completely vile. It’s just so vile.” Ralston said she wants to open residents’ eyes to the municipality’s role in daily life and what’s being done with their tax dollars. “The photo essay, I’ve always liked those because I think it appealed to my documentary instincts where you have not just one photograph, but a series of photographs and text on a subject,” he said.
