“It was a big surprise … especially with rap and hip hop now in Canada,” he said. “The Canadian hip-hop scene is very international now especially with Drake and a lot of his camp, and other artists who are doing stuff. We have some of the biggest rappers in the world now, not just big in Canada.”Nominees for the Juno for rap album of the year for 2023.
But he’s adamant that he doesn’t regret putting his feelings and life experiences on display like that. He said some of his best songs are about his most uncomfortable moments.
