Suiting up for the Atlantic Division were the Ottawa Senators\u0027 captain Brady Tkachuk and his brother, Matthew, of the Florida Panthers.
Brady was happy to have a front row seat to watch his brother earn and accept the award.
They were the first brothers to suit up for the same team in the all-star game since Daniel and Henrik Sedin in 2012. “I can’t imagine how many hours I’ve spent watching him, so just to be on the same ice, know a little bit of his tendencies. But I don’t realize how good he is until I’m on a line with him,” Brady said.
“We had always talked about the fact that whether it was a tournament or way down the road, to be able to play together would be special,” Brady said. “It was just special that it was here in Florida. A lot of family and friends were able to come down. So it’s just something that we’re both going to remember for a long time.Article content
He’s headed to the Bahamas for some rest, relaxation and the opportunity to take his mind off hockey before the race to the finish line begins. The Senators went into the break on a four-game winning streak and are six points out of the final wildcard spot in the East.
