Talbot has helped lead the Senators to a three-game winning streak after a 3-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens Wednesday and he’s won four of his last five starts. Given the choice, he’d love to face the Wild Sunday, but that’s not his decision and he doesn’t want it to be.Article content Talbot didn’t have Sunday circled on his calendar after he was dealt to the Senators by the Wild in July He’s also made stops with the New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers and Calgary Flames in his career so this is nothing new.Article content
Talbot was traded here in exchange for prospect goalie Filip Gustavsson. The move came only five days after the club signed veteran Marc-Andre Fleury to a two-year contract and the Senators were more than happy to get Talbot to stabilize the net with Forsberg.Talbot makes his off-season home in Southern Ontario so this wasn’t difficult. But a broken rib in the club’s first exhibition game against the Toronto Maple Leafs Sept. 21 made fitting in with his new teammates a little tougher.
“It was tough at the beginning, and I’m not going to lie, to get acclimated, get integrated with the new group and stuff like that plus getting to know the guys,” Talbot said. “They start going on road trips, like the trip , and you’re not a part of it. Those are the times where you find yourself getting to know the guys and stuff like that.Article content
