Neddy Boland supported sports teams and community groups over the years
Former longtime Molson representative Neddy Boland, left, of Corner Brook has had a rough time over the last three and half months as he’s undergone surgery for liver cancer and experienced other health issues. Boland has spent a large part of the last 3 1/2 months in hospital in St. John’s and at Western Memorial Regional Hospital. “They have to travel with you, and they have to have hotels. Yourself, you’re in the hospital and you’re being looked after, but if you want your family to be present at all then it runs into a big expense.”“He visited everybody. If you played sports of any kind, he was there to donate, and to help and to raise money. … He was really, really good. He was very generous to everybody.”
Laing said he hoped Boland was going to be able to watch some of the event online, because he also planned to read some of the well wishes the group has collected from people who have donated.“Just to know that so many people are still thinking of you.”
