Health Canada announced this week it has secured foreign supply of children’s acetaminophen that will be available in retail stores and pharmacies in the coming weeks. Even before it arrives, the department is advising Canadians to “buy only what they need” and not stockpile.
“Now we’re blaming the parents. That, in my mind, would be almost victim-blaming,” said Conservative MP Stephen Ellis.Article content Trombetti said that there are some similar shortages for children’s medication happening in Germany, England and France, but agreed that the shortages are not as acute as in Canada.
“It didn’t start with the Liberal government,” he added. “We were constantly in the hospital undergoing shortages of often important drugs.”
