Vic Fremlin, Sault Ste. Marie’s meister of milk, wants to expand the aircraft refurbishing company with 30 new jobs
After a global search costing thousands of dollars, Springer Aerospace Holdings Ltd. found its white knight on the farm next door in Echo Bay.
The two other directors are new to the company and both Echo Bay neighbours: Tom Fremlin and his brother Vic.Vic also owns Lock City Dairies in Sault Ste. Marie."A lot of them turned put pretty good. The dairy was a crazy idea. I had some people thought I was crazy on this deal, some professional people. I said look, I'm an entrepreneur. We understand that things are rough this time of year, but we can't afford to lose any jobs in this area. We can't lose that.
"Dan's been a good neighbour and hired all the people in the community. It's a shame to see it go down. We didn't want to see that all," Tom tells SooToday. "I've been on the farm all my life. When things get hard working on the farm, when you're building things, I was taught to be very community minded."
