ICYMI: Forever Loved hopes to expand service to Cumberland County | SaltWire

Dr. Emily Reiner is founder of Forever Loved. The organization, which provides in-home euthanasia for pets, is hoping to expand to more areas, including Cumberland County. CONTRIBUTEDA special organization is hoping to soon extend its unique services to more rural regions of Nova Scotia, including Cumberland County.

Currently based mainly in the Halifax Regional Municipality, Reiner says she would like to be able to ensure pet owners all over Nova Scotia can access the service in the near future. “I pretty much decided that one of my favourite parts of being a vet, even in clinic, was trying to help people through the grieving process and through letting go and the whole end-of-life scenario,” she says. “I really felt fulfilled by that part of my job.”

Instead, she says in-home euthanasia allows many pets to feel less anxiety and more comfortable since they are with loved ones and can relax in more familiar surroundings.
