“The federal numbers would suggest across the entire country, in an entire year, we only have 235,000 people experiencing homelessness. Funding for the sector is based on this lowball number,” said Forchuk, who is leading the Lawson research team.An updated head count of Calgary’s homeless population is expected in the coming days, as the Calgary Homeless Foundation prepares to release.
