Concerned government officials will be held accountable if they are unable to send home thousands of Filipino workers stuck in quarantine centers in Metro Manila this week, Malacañang said on Monday.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said President Duterte is fed up with the delayed release of OFWs and wanted authorities to hasten the processing of their test results so that those who are cleared can finally return to their places of residence.

According to Roque, the President has authorized agencies to tap all state resources, including military airplanes and ships, to ferry the OFWs back to their hometowns. At present, Filipino workers are required to undergo coronavirus testing and 14-day facility quarantine upon arrival in the country to prevent the spread of the disease. Once they are cleared by health authorities, the government has ordered an unhampered transit of the OFWs back to their hometowns.
