THUNDER BAY — An outbreak of COVID-19 at the Southbridge Pinewood long-term care home has now been extended to the entire facility.
The outbreak previously involved residents or staff in three sections of the 128-bed facility on Walsh Street East. On Monday, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit and Southbridge Care Homes announced it had spread to a fourth section. According to information posted online by the company on Monday, 18 residents and six staff members have tested positive for COVID-19. The company said the residents and staff members are fully vaccinated, and that the staff members are isolating at home.Elsewhere, a COVID-19 outbreak that had been in effect at St. Joseph's Hospital on 4 North was declared over.
