Before next Saturday’s opening to the general public, Exploration Place will host a media, 'sneak peak event,' which will also be open to Exploration Place members on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m.
After being closed for more than two-and-a-half years, Exploration Place Museum and Science Centre will finally reopen in Prince George on Oct. 29.
Exploration Place was closed to the public in March of 2020 due to COVID-19. The executive took the unexpected opportunity offered by this closure to renovate the building and was looking at a re-opening date in early summer 2022. However, supply chain issues and labour shortages further postponed the re-opening.
“Every renovation has its challenges,” Exploration Place CEO Tracy Calogheros said in a news release. “Although it took longer than anticipated, we feel that we have done our due diligence to honour the vision so that we can properly serve everyone who comes through the doors.” The following day, healthcare workers/first responders in Prince George are invited to visit in gratitude for their selfless service over the past two years.
