Erika Proctor was a cyclist who often frequented Truro's trails. She passed away in January 2022. ContributedTRURO, N.S. — To many within the greater Nova Scotia cycling community, Erika Proctor was the sister they always wanted.
Those who asked about the stream of riders cycling past were told about Erika's passing, and how they wanted to preserve her memory through one of her favourite hobbies. "When I first came back from Toronto, I met her on a group road ride in Bedford," Knowlton reminisced."It was in the parking lot. She came over to the parking lot and introduced herself, and we just became friends."
Amira Tawashy is a fellow cyclist. She had picked up the hobby at the same time as Proctor, noting her determination to get better and better with every ride."There was a guy in our group who was newly single, and we were both giving him the 20 questions," Tawashy laughed." had a way of making everyone feel like they were her best friend," said Tawashy."She was a great cyclist, great in the community in so many other ways.
