ESKASONI, N.S. - The Eskasoni Eagles extended their winning streak to six straight games on Sunday, defeating the Pictou County Scotians 8-6 in Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League action at the Dan K. Stevens Memorial Arena. Marcellus Francis had a five-point performance, which included three goals, while Sonny Kabatay notched three goals and an assist. Trey Sturge had a goal and three assists, while JC MacDonald added a single marker for the Eagles.
Jack Tompkins netted a pair of goals, while Cale Archibald, Cal Maxner, Joseph Manson, and Ryan Frizzle also fired home goals for the Scotians.Meanwhile, in Antigonish, the Membertou Jr. Miners were downed 4-1 by the Antigonish AA Munro Bulldogs at the Antigonish Arena on Sunday.Colby McCarron had the lone goal for the Jr. Miners.On Saturday, Membertou downed the Strait Pirates 7-2 at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre.
Alexander Chenhall had two goals and an assist, while Colby McCarron, Jarrett Hicks, Connor MacIntyre, Liam Burke, and Alec Campbell buried single markers for the Jr. Miners.Membertou's Seth Crowe made 40 saves.
