“It was our hope that Premier Ford and Minister Jones would agree to appear before the Commission voluntarily. However, given that the repeated invitations were all declined, the Commission has issued summons this day to Premier Ford and Minister Jones,” Public Order Emergency Commission co-lead counsel Shantona Chaudhury and Jeffery S. In their letter, Chaudhury and Leon reveal that they had repeatedly tried to interview Ford and Jones “voluntarily” because they believe they have knowledge relevant to the commission’s work. Then commission lawyers requested that Ford and Jones testify publicly at the commission “voluntarily.”Article content
