Mayor Amarjeet Sohi told Postmedia on Monday he requested meetings with Smith’s office multiple times to talk about the impact of homelessness, mental illness, addictions and overdoses in the city — as well as tourism and the economy — but it hasn’t happened to date. “We have not seen investment in mental health and illness Edmontonians are facing. We have a crisis of drug poisoning, people are dying every day on Edmonton streets. It’s a crisis that we have and we want to talk to the premier about that.
