They joined the U.S. in that war when President George Bush invoked NATO’s mutual defence clause after the September 11 attacks in 2001. It was done in consultation with U.S. allies and Biden’s chaotic withdrawal of troops was a tumultuous betrayal of them — and the women of Afghanistan.
