A man is facing charges after an alleged bank fraud scheme in Bowmanville.
Police say Jason Weiss, 44, from London, tried to withdraw funds from someone else’s bank account. The incident happened around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday at a bank near Longworth Avenue and Scugog Street.Police allege Weiss then went to another bank, showed fraudulent ID and tried to withdraw funds again.Weiss faces a number of charges, including attempted fraud , personation with intent , possession of an identity document, forgery and failure to comply with a release order.
